About Us

Lopez Academy is an Arizona nonprofit private school committed to providing academic instruction, character development, and practical life skills to children and youth.

Arizona consistently ranks near the bottom nationally in K–12 education, often placing among the lowest-performing states. Our Academy exists to offer families an alternative.

We offer a learning environment that combines core academics with entrepreneurship, economics, and technology skills. Grounded in a model of Contemporary Christian Education, the program supports families seeking both strong academics and charitable moral formation for their children.

Students learn in a small, personalized setting inspired by the one-room schoolhouse model, where educators guide instruction through a blend of direct teaching, supervised online coursework, mentoring, and hands-on learning.

Programs include academic courses, skills-based training, and opportunities that encourage real-world application, including internships or volunteer experiences that support educational growth and community engagement.

I taught at school for some years before leaving to start my own. After I left, a mom told me, “My son said you were his best friend.”
