Student, Age 12

When we first met our student, she hated math, believing she was “just bad at it.”

She took a 5th Grade Math diagnostic. The results showed she had mastered 9% of the material and was missing 75 key concepts from 4th Grade Math. We recommended 4th Grade remediation. That’s where we started.

In one month, she remediated her 4th Grade Math, and her 9% jumped to 30% mastery of 5th Grade Math. Unsurprisingly, she finished 5th Grade Math one month early.

She is now on advanced Pre-Algebra and closing in on High School Algebra. The girl who thought she couldn’t do math is today easily calculating hard problems and only occasionally asking for help.

In a year, she jumped from 4th Grade Math to one class away from High School Algebra.

Student, Age 8

When our next student joined us, we weren't sure where to place him, so we started him in 3rd Grade Math. In a year, he completed an incredible 217 math lessons, pushed past 3rd and 4th Grade Math, and is now nearly finished with 5th Grade Math. Next, he'll join our accelerated Math Academy.

This doesn’t happen by accident.

At Lopez Academy, we believe your child is capable of more than most schools think.

We coach them, challenge them, and hold them accountable to high standards. We take learning seriously because we believe education should produce real results.

We look for families who share that mindset—families who want their kids encouraged, coached, and challenged to reach their potential. Just like kids do in sports, music, and things where hard work is important, we think school needs the same winning culture.

We're a team, and school is our sport.

Show up, put in the work, and win together—one lesson, one skill, one day at a time.

Student, Age 7

Our youngest student was new to school.

But ‘’Practice makes progress,’’ as we tell our students. Math is tough, but he’s tougher.

In time, he’s accelerated from Kindergarten Math to 3rd Grade Math in just over a year.

Don't take our word for it.

We have nothing to hide and everything to celebrate. We're incredibly proud of what he's done in such a short time. That happens when you get rid of homework/tests/grades and help kids “lock in” at Lopez Academy.
